Kaiser Permanente- Oakland, CA. 32 hour benefitted position. Speech-Language Pathologist, Department- Head and Neck Surgery. Job description: Reports to HNS Manager and the Director of Speech Pathology. Provides adult inpatient acute care speech pathology services including evaluation and treatment of speech/language/voice and swallowing disorders. Provides pediatric and adult outpatient speech pathology services including evaluation and treatment of a wide variety of communication disorders. Monitors quality of care and service. Advises physicians and member/caregiver of test results. Collaborates with physician as treatment plan changes. Participates in developing inservice programs for staff development. Serves as consultant on interdisciplinary teams. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local as well as JCAHO requirements. Identifies and recommends opportunities to contain costs and improve services. Assists with community programs. Develops and expands speech therapy programs as appropriate. Requires Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year, Certificate of Clinical Competence and California licensure.
