Mabini Adult Day Health, San Francisco is recruiting a speech pathologist to assist our program. We are seeking a motivated professional available to lead therapeutic groups and provide staff training. The Speech Therapist must hold a Master's Degree in speech therapy and a speech therapy license from the California Medical Board; and have one year experience working with the frail elderly or chronically ill. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team is preferred. Bilingual not required but desirable. The Speech Therapist provides functional speech assessments and evaluations for Adult Day Health Care center participants; acts as a consultant for the Program Director and is member of the Multidisciplinary team. The duties include the following: A. Evaluate the participants' condition and functional status. Establish goals and set up treatment plans to administer speech therapy techniques as prescribed by the referring physician. B. Provide speech therapy treatment; instruct and demonstrate to families and others the speech therapy and rehabilitation procedures indicated C. Provide general instruction on principles of speech therapy to staff as needed. D. Record in participants' charts services given, progress notes and schedule participant for further treatment. Hours and Compensation: The per diem position is available approximately 4-4.5 hours a week, between 9 a.m. -1 p.m. We currently offer group on Tuesdays, however we can negotiate a day change to best suit our contractors schedule. We offer compensation between $38-42/hr.
