Roles and Responsibilities
- Is a member of the Southern California Medical Speech-Language Council
- Has computer accessibility
- Has fax accessibility
- Has Internet accessibility
- Manages finances of the organization
- Manages accounts receivable (e.g., membership dues, conferences/workshop fees)
- Manages accounts payable (website, office supplies, conference sites, honorariums)
- Analyzes cash flows and develops revenue projections on a quarterly basis
- Approves invoices for payments
- Oversees returned item collections
- Maintains employer identification number information
- Manages Business Checking Account Statements Monthly (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, account fees, etc.)
- Maintains business ATM card and related charges via ATM (e.g., Website)
- Maintains MSCC Expense Statement reimbursement forms
- Maintains hard copies of all receipts, expense statements, etc.
- Orders labels from Public Information Unit of the Dept Consumer Affairs
- Administrates fiscal matters of the organization
- Able to use quicken accounting program version 2001
- Able to download Quick Books transactions to MSCC’s lap top computer maintained by MSCC’s Board Secretary
- Provides Financial Transaction Reports for Board Members via Zip Disk or hard copies quarterly or during each Board Meeting
- Maintains Federal Express (Fed-X) account in good standing
- Maintains Website’s monthly fees in good standing
- Maintains all treasurer’s books and records in order for unexpected audit
- Identifies, opens and maintains MSCC’s Post Office Box in good standing
- Seeks assistance from Financial Advisor as directed by the board
- Assists with planning and organizing of MSCC annual conferences and workshops
- Provides annual budget to the board for members' approval


- Ensures development and board review of financial policies and procedures
